I’m sure most of us have seen “Supersize Me”, the documentary about Morgan Spurlock eating each meal at McDonald’s for 30 days in a row. If you haven’t, it’s a very entertaining and eye-opening film that I highly recommend.
I am borrowing his idea of 30 days, but the similarities end there.
For the past year, I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars and who knows how many man hours training with some of the top producers and trainers in the online marketing industry. What I would like to do is share that knowledge.
I would like to expose those who currently are not marketing online to some strategies and for those who are online; enhance their businesses with some tactics to generate more leads and traffic.

Last night, I was reading a book to my 2-yr old daughter Maeve before she went to bed and was not only pleasantly surprised, but almost floored by Dr. Suess’ message. I will never forget that “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” was Maeve’s first in a long line of personal development books.
Did Dr. Suess mean to have this effect? Not sure. Am I crazy? Perhaps. But, take a look at the following passages and tell me how you would perceive it:
You can get so confused
that you’ll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
The Waiting Place…

So, this is probably going to be my easiest, shortest and most enjoyable post ever! For those of you who don’t know, my wife Kendra, daughter Maeve and I extended our family by a factor of one very big baby boy. Murphy Michael McMullen entered the world on February 17th and tipped the scales at 10lbs 9oz!
I took a sabbatical from my business for the rest of Feb. and am ready to return to a contributing member of the community. With all of that time off, I was really able to think about the new techniques I’m currently not employing to run our business…I just keep adding pieces.

For those of you have spent any time with me, you know that I hold a special place in my heart for Napoleon Hill. If you haven’t read “Think And Grow Rich”, run out right now and buy it. It literally changed my life.
Recently, I made one of my best Amazon.com purchases in awhile. On a sidenote, Amazon should pay me some sort of affiliate commission for as many people I send there. I bought the aforementioned book on CD. Now, I can listen and be inspired while I’m driving, running, cutting the grass, you name it. I’m not cutting much grass these days in the St. Louis winter, but you get the gist.
In the spirit of my acquisition, I wanted to share one of Mr. Hill’s quotes that I thought was particularly applicable to our industry…

When you create blog posts, write articles, have forum ideas or anything else of value to share with our online community, it’s important to have an efficient distribution system to follow. Should I post to Twitter, my Facebook Fan Page and my blog? Where are the appropriate places to share?
The answer is EVERYWHERE. As long as you are offering valuable content and not trying to sell everybody on everything, then other business owners will appreciate your information and look to you as a leader.
I fumbled around with this for a little while until I got organized and came up with a very simple system to make sure I send it to all of my different outlets. I created a video for you that explains how, where and why valuable information should be shared…

Recently, I spent some time in Washington, DC and it got me thinking about how many opportunities we have in this country and other similar countries that afford us the freedom to start our own businesses. I’d love to put it into words as well as Seth Godin, but since he is a bestselling author, here’s an excerpt from his book, “Tribes” that sums it up perfectly:
The Obligation
Not too far from us, a few blocks away, there are kids without enough to eat and without parents who care. A little farther away, hours by plane, are people unable to reach their goals because they live in a community that just doesn’t have the infrastructure to support them…

Having a Facebook fan page is an integral part of establishing your own brand and presence within the social networks.
Fan pages were designed for celebrities, bands, businesses, and public figures to promote their brands to the public. Unlike a personal Facebook account where you’re limited to 5,000 friends, there are no limits or restrictions to the number of fans or followers you can have with a fan page. Also, Facebook is starting to crack down on using personal pages for business networking.

I used to wonder why most people online are so willing to offer such valuable advice for free. From a capture page, it’s obviously to get you to opt-in. Every company out there will offer you a sample, but never as valuable as what you can get in this industry. A 10% off coupon at Domino’s? Great, that’s worth a dollar and I already know I like pizza. You can/should literally turn free information into thousands and thousands of dollars…

I have recently endured an online tragedy and I’d like to help everyone else avoid the same pitfall. As the story goes, I wanted to change my domain name because it was RyanMMcMullen.com and that extra “M” was confusing (Michael is my middle name in case you are wondering). A state congressman from Oklahoma has selfishly taken RyanMcMullen.com, so I had to get a little creative. For some time, I’ve preached about proper domain names and had gone against my own personal rule by having the two “M”s side-by-side…

I’ve had numerous people ask me what are the differences between the
two largest social networking sites and which one is better for online
marketing. While the latter question is debatable, I know most top
producers will agree with me when I say Facebook is more effective.
Including the number of users, the two sites are fundamentally the
same, but there are some nuances that make Facebook superior…
